Coulee City joins forces with thousands of communities

nationwide for the

"27th Annual National Night Out"

crime and drug prevention event.

National Night Out, which is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and co-sponsored locally by the Coulee City Police Department and the Coulee City Block Watch, involves over 15,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities, and military bases around the world. National Night Out provides an opportunity for all community members to get to know one another and build strong networks of communication about what’s happening in the neighborhood.  Many neighborhoods throughout Coulee City will host a variety of special events such as block parties, BBQ's, parades, flashlight walks, contests, and youth activities.  Officers from the Coulee City Police Department will drop in to visit with neighbors and talk about important crime prevention tips.

National Night Out is designed to

(1) heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;

(2) generate support for, and participation in local anti-crime efforts;

(3) strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and

(4) send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Mark your calendar for Coulee City’s 1st year participating in the event ~ Tuesday, August 3rd 2010.
